Our Trip to the Zoo

We took Nathan and Madison to the National Zoo while the other two were in school.  We made it a quick trip.  My goal was to show him the things he's been learning about lately.
He likes monkeys.  We are working on making the sound a monkey makes.  He likes to point out the monkeys on our shower curtain.

We talk about the sound that a "growly" bear makes.  He likes to growl.

He likes to sign bird.  So we walked through the section with birds.  The flamingos were particularly interesting since they are so brightly colored and were making some noise.

We talk a lot about the sounds elephants make and we sign it by making the trunk with one arm.

The meerkats were his favorite by far. This guys was really active.  He ran back and forth in front of the glass where Nathan was standing.  He laughed every time he ran past.  It was so cute.

He doesn't walk on his own yet, but he likes to hold your hand and walk.  So I let him walk a little on our way out of the zoo.
