Blast From the Past

I came across this old photo taken in Monterey on the
day Mike was promoted to Lt. Col.  Maddie was so
much smaller! Gracie's hair was so cute, and wow,
Noah was a lot shorter!

Washington D.C.

We went to the Natural History Museum with Kevin.  Bridget was visiting with people at Boeing.  We made it pretty quick as Mike was afraid to get stuck in the rush hour traffic.

We stopped at Ford's Theatre but didn't have reserved tickets so we couldn't tour it.  We really would have loved to.  We will definitely go back.  We did get to see Lincoln's coat, the one he wore the night he was shot!  It really gives you a true idea of how tall he was!

Hard to see them, but they are standing there under the Ford's Theatre entry way.

This is the house right across the street.  It's the one Lincoln was brought to after he was shot. He died here.  They are renovating it, and then it will reopen to the public.

Here's a group shot of us taken by Bridget right before they had to leave to go to the airport.

Richmond Children's Museum

Grace's class took a trip to the Richmond Children's Museum.  It was a lot of fun for everyone.  Mike chaperoned and I took the other kids (minus Noah) along for the trip.

Visiting Yorktown

We took the kids to the Yorktown Victory Center.  They had a great time.  We also went to the Yorktown riverfront and ate dinner before returning home.
The kids tried on period clothes at the museum.

They didn't have clothes Nathan sized  so he wore a apron as a cape.

They watered plants in the garden and plucked tobacco worms off the plants.

Chasing a couple rabbits.

The rabbit makes it to the tree line.

The riverfront, it was really nice.  It would be nice to go back and swim.  Lots of people were there to swim and picnic.
